Impact cracks
A drop onto a hard surface, edge-first or face-first, is the single biggest cause of cracked glass and, on more fragile panels, internal display damage underneath it.
A mobile screen protection plan, usually sold as ADLD (Accidental Damage & Liquid Damage) cover, pays for screen crack or shatter repair and liquid-damage repair caused by a one-time accident — distinct from extended warranty, which only covers manufacturing defects. This applies across brands, from everyday Android phones to flagships and foldables.
Screen damage is the single most common accidental-damage claim across every phone brand, because the screen is the largest fragile surface on the device and almost always takes the brunt of a drop or knock.

Rain, spills, and accidental drops into water damage internal components even on phones with a water-resistance rating, since those ratings are tested under lab conditions, not permanent guarantees.
Extended warranty and ADLD cover solve different problems, and conflating them is the most common misunderstanding about mobile protection. Extended warranty continues the manufacturer's original promise — that the phone will work as built, free of manufacturing defects — for longer than the standard one-year period. It does not, and was never designed to, pay for damage caused by the owner dropping the phone, spilling a drink on it, or stepping on it. ADLD exists specifically to cover those accidents: a cracked screen from a drop, a shattered back panel, or liquid damage from a spill or rain exposure. Many protection plans bundle both into a single combo policy precisely because a phone owner usually wants protection from both kinds of risk — the ones the manufacturer controls, and the ones that happen in daily life.
At a high level, every ADLD claim distributed through Assurify's infrastructure follows the same basic path, regardless of brand or plan tier.
The damage is reported through Assurify Care, describing what happened and when.
The plan and device are checked against the registered policy to confirm the claim falls within cover.
The device is routed to the nearest certified repair partner for assessment.
The repair is carried out and the device is returned, with status visible throughout.
Not every screen repair costs the same — flagship displays and, especially, foldable inner screens are significantly more expensive to repair than a standard slab-phone screen, which makes ADLD cover more financially meaningful the higher up the phone's price tier sits.
ADLD stands for Accidental Damage and Liquid Damage. It's a protection tier, sold standalone or as part of a combo plan, that pays for repair when a screen cracks or the device is damaged by exposure to liquid, distinct from extended warranty which only covers manufacturing defects.
The screen is the largest, most exposed fragile surface on any phone, so when a phone is dropped or knocked, the odds of it being the point of impact, and therefore the point of damage, are higher than any other component.
Extended warranty only covers manufacturing defects — faults that exist because of how the phone was built, not things that happen because of an accident. ADLD specifically covers the accidents that extended warranty excludes: drops, cracks, and liquid exposure.
At a high level, a claim starts with reporting the damage through Assurify Care, continues with validating that the device and plan are covered, and ends with the device being routed to a certified repair partner for assessment and repair.
Yes. Flagship displays, and especially foldable inner screens, are higher-cost repairs than a standard slab-phone screen, so the highest-value ADLD claims tend to come from flagship and foldable devices.
ADLD is designed for accidental damage caused by a specific incident — a drop, knock, or liquid exposure — rather than for issues that arise without an external cause, which would typically fall under a manufacturing-defect claim instead.
